When the Jersey Law Review was launched in February 1997, one of the hopes expressed was that the Letters to the Editor section might afford the opportunity for exchanges of views on legal issues of current interest.  On the whole that hope has not as yet been fulfilled.  The Editorial Board has therefore decided to introduce, with effect from this issue, a new section entitled “Editorial Miscellany”.  This new section will contain short contributions from members of the Editorial Board on recent judicial decisions, statutory developments and matters of current moment.  The contributions will be unattributed in order to permit a greater latitude of comment.  It is hoped that this Editorial Miscellany may stimulate subscribers to take issue, or even to express agreement, with the Board and thereby to generate debate.
