1. LAWS ADOPTED BY THE STATES

(a)           Protection of Children (Restriction on Supply of Goods) (Jersey) Law 200-
(P.175/2008—adopted in 3rd reading, 21.1.09)

This Law enables the prohibition or restriction of the supply of certain goods to children.

(b)           Gender Recognition (Jersey) Law 200-
(P.174/2008—adopted in 3rd reading, 3.2.09)

This Law provides for the legal recognition, in Jersey, of changes in gender.

(c)           Companies (Amendment No. 10) (Jersey) Law 200-
(P.185/2008—adopted in 3rd reading, 24.2.09)

This Law makes miscellaneous amendments to the Companies (Jersey) Law 1991, including further provisions as to appeals against decisions of the Jersey Financial Services Commission, distributions and reductions of share capital.

(d)           Summary Fines (Miscellaneous Amendments) (Jersey) Law 200-
(P.6/2009—adopted in 3rd reading, 24.2.09)

This Law increases the powers of a centenier to levy a fine summarily.

(e)           Royal Court (Amendment No. 12) (Jersey) Law 200-
(P.19/2009—adopted in 3rd reading, 31.2.09)

This Law revises the procedure for the appointment of Jurats.

(f)            Employment (Amendment No. 5) (Jersey) Law 200-

This Law confers rights on redundancy.

These Regulations alter the retirement options available to officers in the uniformed services.

These Regulations revise the arrangements for determination of a person’s rate of pay.

This Order increases the minimum wage.

(b)           Motor Vehicles (Wearing of Seat Belts by Adults) (Jersey) Order 2009
(R&O.30/2009—in force 3.4.09)

This Order extends the requirement for adults to wear a seat belt to all adults sitting in a seat fitted with a seat belt.
