The collection of this information is common practice and is used to analyse and understand how the website is being used. The following information is logged: IP address (the internet address of your computer), date and time of your visit, the type of computer, browser and operating system you are using, the URL's of websites that referred you to the website and the path you take through the website.

·             If you forget your username and/or password you can email the Membership Administrator and request for it/them to be emailed to you.

Cookies

A cookie is a small piece of information that many websites write to a computer's hard drive when a visit is made to a website; cookies can either be stored temporarily (i.e. for the duration of your visit to a particular website) and are known as "session" cookies, or on a permanent basis (although you can delete them at any time). Cookie files are extremely small, comprising no more than 255 characters and 4KB of disk space and can contain a variety of information.

The JLIB website uses session cookies as part of the log-in process for Unreported Judgments users. You must have session cookies enabled in order to log-in to these secure areas of the JLIB website.

To check your settings in Microsoft Internet Explorer go to Tools --> Internet Options and click on the Security tab. Click on the Internet symbol and then click on the "Custom Level..." button. Scroll down to the Cookies section and make sure that "Allow per-session cookies (not stored)" is set to Enable).

To check your settings in Netscape Navigator 6 go to Edit --> Preferences. Expand the Advanced category and Click on the Cookies sub-category. Make sure that "Enable all cookies" is selected.

The cookie simply contains an ID number (it does not store any personal information) which enables us to track your details from one browser session to another.

Disclosure of Information to Third Parties

JLIB will not sell, trade, or lease personal information (including e-mail addresses) to third parties.
