BUSINESS NAMES (AMENDMENT) (JERSEY) ORDER 2000

THE FINANCE AND ECONOMICS COMMITTEE, in pursuance of Articles 16, 16A and 17 of the Registration of Business Names (Jersey) Law 1956, as amended,1 and after consultation with the Jersey Financial Services Commission, has made the following Order –

1.             After Article 1 of the Business Names (Jersey) Order 19982 there shall be inserted the following heading and Article –

 

“Fees

1A.-(1)  For the purposes of sub-paragraph (a) of paragraph (1) of Article 16 of the Law the fee for the inspection of documents filed by the registrar in respect of any one firm or person is £3.

(2)          For the purposes of sub-paragraph (b) of paragraph (1) of Article 16 of the Law –

(a)     the fee for the provision of a certificate of the registrar in respect of the registration of any one firm or person is £10; and

(b)     the fee for the provision of a certificate of the registrar in respect of copies of or extracts from any registered statements held by the registrar in respect of any one firm or person is £10.

(3)          For the purposes of Article 16A of the Law, fees are prescribed as follows for the carrying out of the following functions –

(a)     £8 for the filing of a statement of particulars furnished under Article 3 of the Law if the statement is not furnished at the same time as a statement relating to the same firm or person under Article 4 of the Law;

(b)     £30 for the filing of a statement furnished under Article 4 of the Law;

(c)     £15 for the filing of a statement furnished under Article 7 of the Law;

(d)     £8 for the conduct (in response to a request by post) of a search by the registrar in respect of any one firm or person, whether or not the firm or person is registered under the Law;

(e)     25p per page for the provision of a copy of matter held by the registrar in respect of any firm or person registered under the Law.

(4)          The registrar may reduce or remit any fee prescribed by this Article if it would, in his opinion, be just to do so.”

2.             This Order may be cited as the Business Names (Amendment) (Jersey) Order 2000 and shall come into force on the first day of February 2000.
