Covid-19 (Restricted Movement) (Amendment – Workplaces and Fourth Extension) (Jersey) Order 2020

THE MINISTER FOR HEALTH AND SOCIAL SERVICES, after consulting the Medical Officer of Health, makes this Order under Regulation 5 of the Covid-19 (Screening, Assessment and Isolation) (Jersey) Regulations 2020[1] –

1        Fourth extension of end date of period of restricted movement

In Article 1(b) of the Covid-19 (Restricted Movement) (Jersey) Order 2020[2] (the “Order”), for “Wednesday 20th May” there is substituted “Thursday 28th May”.

2        Amendment of Article 2 (exceptions from requirement not to go to or remain in public place)

In Article 2 of the Order –

(a)     for paragraph (1)(b) there is substituted –

“(b)    any other person who is in a public place for the purpose of that person’s work, when –

(i)      it is not reasonably possible for that person to work from the place where that person is living, or

(ii)      the person is required by his or her employer to work at a workplace, within the meaning of the Covid‑19 (Workplace Restrictions) (Jersey) Regulations 2020[3], if that requirement does not contravene any provision of or under those Regulations;”;

(b)     in paragraph (1)(d)(iii) for “building other than relevant business premises” there is substituted “building, other than business premises to which the person is admitted as a member of the public rather than as an employee”;

(c)     for paragraph (2)(d) there is substituted –

“(d)    “business premises” means premises that are a workplace, within the meaning of the Covid‑19 (Workplace Restrictions) (Jersey) Regulations 2020[4].”.

3        Amendment of Article 3 (places treated as being public places or as not being public places)

In Article 3 of the Order –

(a)     in paragraph (2)(a) for “the Covid19 (Restricted Trading) (Jersey) Regulations 2020” there is substituted “Article 2(2)(d)”;

(b)     paragraph (2)(b) is deleted.

4        Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Covid-19 (Restricted Movement) (Amendment – Workplaces and Fourth Extension) (Jersey) Order 2020 and comes into force on the day after it is made.
