Covid-19 (Workplace Restrictions and Gathering Control) (Amendment No. 7) (Jersey) Order 2021

THE MINISTER FOR HEALTH AND SOCIAL SERVICES makes this Order under Regulations 2 and 3 of the Covid-19 (Workplace Restrictions) (Jersey) Regulations 2020[1], after complying with the consultation requirements set out in Regulation 2(1) and (2) of those Regulations and under Regulation 2 of the Covid-19 (Gatherings) (Jersey) Regulations 2020[2], after complying with the consultation requirements in Regulation 2(3) of those Regulations –

1        Covid-19 (Workplace Restrictions) (Jersey) Order 2020 amended

Articles 2 to 6 amend the Covid-19 (Workplace Restrictions) (Jersey) Order 2020[3].

2        Article A1 (interpretation) amended

In Article A1(1) the definitions “market”, “retail premises” and “visitor attraction” are deleted.

3        Article 5 (visitors required to wear masks) amended

In Article 5(3) the following sub-paragraphs are deleted –

(a)     sub-paragraphs (a) and (b);

(b)     sub-paragraphs (e) to (p).

4        Article 5A (condition of opening: workers wearing masks or visors) amended

(1)     In Article 5A(2) the following sub-paragraphs are deleted –

(a)     sub-paragraphs (a) to (c);

(b)     sub-paragraphs (e) to (l).

(2)     For Article 5A(2)(d) there is substituted –

“(d)    a public transport vehicle or premises;”.

(3)     Article 5A(2A) is deleted.

(4)     In Article 5A(3) “or a driving instructor” is deleted.

5        Article 5B (conditions of opening: visitors giving contact tracing data) amended

In Article 5B(2) –

(a)     in sub-paragraph (c) “workplaces” is deleted;

(c)     in sub-paragraph (g) “if more than 50 people are participating in the gathering” is deleted;

(d)     after sub-paragraph (h) there is inserted –

“(i)     a community hall (including a parish hall), function room or the like, but only where people are gathering for the purpose of attending an event such as a performance, rehearsal, meeting, party, exhibition, evening class or other group activity.”.

6        Article 5F amended

For Article 5F(b) there is substituted –

“(b)    is employed as an enforcement officer within the Covid Safe team; and”.

7        Covid-19 (Gathering Control) (Jersey) Order 2020 amended

In the Covid-19 (Gathering Control) (Jersey) Order 2020[4], for Article 3(3) there is substituted –

“(3)    Paragraph (1) does not apply to a gathering of any number of people –

(a)     in any part of a home if it is for the celebration of a marriage or civil partnership, or for a reception or other event commonly associated with that celebration; or

(b)     in a garden, yard or other outdoor space (whether or not using a marquee or other temporary structure) that has been hired out or booked for hire for use by any person other than the owner or the owner’s family on at least one occasion before 10th May 2021.”.

8        Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Covid-19 (Workplace Restrictions and Gathering Control) (Amendment No. 7) (Jersey) Order 2021 and comes into force on 14th June 2021.
