EU Legislation (Sanctions – Iran) (Amendment No. 3) (Jersey) Order 2017

THE MINISTER FOR EXTERNAL RELATIONS, in pursuance of Article 2 of the European Union Legislation (Implementation) (Jersey) Law 2014[1], orders as follows –

1        EU Legislation (Sanctions – Iran) (Jersey) Order 2015 amended

In the EU Legislation (Sanctions – Iran) (Jersey) Order 2015[2] –

(a)     in Article 1, in the definition “Regulation (EU) No 267/2012” for the words “19th October 2015” there are substituted the words “25th June 2017”;

(b)     in Article 4(1)(b) the words “by paragraph (2) and” are deleted;

(c)     in Article 5(2)(c) for the words “Article 40(1)” there are substituted the words “Article 3a(6a), 3c(2a), 3d(2a) or 40(1)”;

(d)     at the end of Article 5 there is added the following paragraph –

“(3)    Paragraphs (1)(a) and (1)(b) do not apply to a contravention –

(a)     by the Minister, of an obligation imposed on the Minister by Article 8 of the General Provisions Order; or

(b)     by a person other than the Minister, of an obligation imposed on that person under Article 9 of that Order.”.

2        Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the EU Legislation (Sanctions – Iran) (Amendment No. 3) (Jersey) Order 2017 and comes into force on the day after it is made.
