(Restricted Movement) (Jersey) Order 2020
1 Declaration of start
and end of restricted movement period[1]
A period of restricted
movement –
(a) starts at 8 a.m. on
Monday 30th March 2020; and
(b) ends at 8 a.m. on Monday 11th May 2020.
2 Exceptions from requirement not to go
to or remain in public place
(1) The
following descriptions of person are exceptions from the requirement not
to go to or remain in a public place –
(a) a police officer or
authorised officer, when acting as such;
(b) any other person who is
in a public place for the purpose of that person’s work, when it is not
reasonably possible for that person to work from the place where that person is
living;
(c) any other person required
to go to, or remain in, a public place to fulfil a legal obligation.
(2) For the purpose of paragraph (1)(b) –
(a) “work” includes work
involved in the provision of voluntary or charitable services; and
(b) direct travel between the
place where a person is living and that person’s place of work is to be treated
as being for the purpose of that person’s work.
3 Places treated as public
A private road or way to
which the public has access, whether for payment or otherwise, is to be treated
as a public place.
4 Citation and commencement
This Order may be cited
as the Covid-19 (Restricted Movement) (Jersey) Order 2020 and comes into force
at 8 a.m. on Monday 30th March 2020.
