Road Traffic (Traffic Signs – St. Helier) (Jersey) Order 2023

THE MINISTER FOR INFRASTRUCTURE, after consultation with the Connétable of St. Helier, makes this Order under Article 21 and 84 of the Road Traffic (Jersey) Law 1956 –

1        Placing of temporary traffic signs

(1)     The Minister may place a traffic sign on the following roads indicating a speed limit of 20 miles per hour –

(a)     Balmoral Drive;

(b)     Bellozanne Road;

(c)     Chapel Lane;

(d)     Claremont Road;

(e)     Clarence Road;

(f)      Clubley Estate;

(g)     College Hill;

(h)     Dongola Road;

(i)      Drury Lane (from Rouge Bouillon to Dongola Road);

(j)      Elizabeth Lane;

(k)     Farley’s Lane;

(l)      Grosvenor Street;

(m)    Hansford Lane;

(n)     La Pouquelaye;

(o)     La Route du Mont Cochon (from La Route de St. Aubin to La Rue de Trachy);

(p)     La Rue de Carteret;

(q)     La Rue de la Fontaine;

(r)      La Rue de l’Etau;

(s)     La Rue de Podêtre;

(t)      Le Breton Lane;

(u)     Le Clos St. André;

(v)     Le Clos Vaze;

(w)    Le Mont Pinel;

(x)     Le Vieux Mont Cochon;

(zx)    West Park Avenue (from St. John’s Road to Parade Road).

(2)     The Minister may place a traffic sign on the following roads indicating a speed limit of 15 miles per hour –

(a)     La Rue Cyril Mauger;

(b)     La Rue des Canons;

(c)     La Ruette de Rauvet;

(d)     Patrick Freeley Lane.

(3)     A person must not drive a motor vehicle on a road described in paragraph (1) or (2) at a speed exceeding that indicated by a traffic sign placed on it by the Minister in accordance with paragraph (1) or (2).

2        Citation, commencement and repeal

(1)     The Order may be cited as the Road Traffic (Traffic Signs – St. Helier) (Jersey) Order 2023.

(2)     This Order comes into force 7 days after it is made.

(3)     This Order is repealed on 1st November 2023.
