Advocates (Specified
Examinations and Assessments) Rules 2013
1 Specified
examinations and assessments for admission to the Bar
Each of the examinations and assessments listed in the Schedule is
specified for the purposes of Article 3(2)(a)(i) and Article 3(3)(b)(i)
of the Advocates and Solicitors (Jersey) Law 1997.
2 Citation
These Rules may be cited as the Advocates (Specified Examinations
and Assessments) Rules 2013.
SCHEDULE
(Rule 1)
Examinations and assessments specified for the purposes of Articles 3(2)(a)(i)
and 3(3)(b)(i) of the Advocates and Solicitors
(Jersey) Law 1997
1 The
examinations and assessments included in any course validated by the Faculty of
Advocates in Scotland for admission as a member of the Faculty of Advocates in
Scotland.
2 The
examinations and assessments included in any course accredited by the Law
Society of Scotland for admission to the Roll of Solicitors in Scotland.
3 The
examinations and assessments leading to the award of a Certificate of
Professional Legal Studies by the Institute of Professional Legal Studies of the
Queen’s University of Belfast or the equivalent for the time being
recognized by –
(a) the Executive Council of the Honorable
Society of the Inn of Court of Northern Ireland, or
(b) the
Law Society of Northern Ireland.
4 The
examinations and assessments included in any course validated by the
appropriate body for admission as an Australian lawyer, as defined in the Legal
Profession Act 2008 of Australia or any re-enactment thereof.
5 The
examinations and assessments included in any course validated by the
appropriate body for admission as a barrister and solicitor under the Lawyers
and Conveyancers Act 2006 of New Zealand or any re-enactment thereof.
