Security (Television Licence Benefit – Income Threshold) (Jersey) Order 2021
1 Interpretation
In this Order –
“Income Tax Law” means the Income Tax (Jersey) Law 1961;
“Regulations” means the Social Security
(Television Licence Benefit) (Jersey) Regulations 2009, and a reference to a Regulation by number
is a reference to the Regulation of that number in those Regulations.[2]
2 Income amount for a
single person[3]
For the purpose of
Regulation 7(6)(a) (determination of relevant total income), the amount
for a single person is the greater of –
(a) £16,070; and
(b) the low income threshold,
as defined in Article 92A(2) of the Income Tax Law.
3 Income amount for a
couple[4]
For the purpose of
Regulation 7(6)(b) (determination of relevant total income), the amount
for a couple is the greater of –
(a) £26,170; and
(b) the low income threshold,
as defined in Article 92A(2) of the Income Tax Law, multiplied
by 1.7.
4 Citation and commencement
This Order may be cited as the Social Security (Television Licence
Benefit – Income Threshold) (Jersey) Order 2021 and comes into force 7 days
after it is made.
