Immigration (Work Permits) (Amendment) (Jersey) Rules 2012

Coming into force                                                        1st March 2012

THE MINISTER FOR HOME AFFAIRS, in pursuance of section 1(4) of the Immigration Act 1971 of the United Kingdom as extended to Jersey by the Immigration (Jersey) Order 1993[1], makes the following Rules –

1        Rule 3 amended

For Rule 3(2)(d) and (e) of the Immigration (Work Permits) (Jersey) Rules 1995[2] the following sub-paragraphs shall be substituted –

“(d)    the wages and conditions of service offered for the vacancy, and the wages and conditions of service applicable to the majority of persons similarly employed in Jersey;

(e)     the entrant’s knowledge of the English language; and

(f)      the economic situation of Jersey.”.

2        Rule 4 amended

In Rule 4(5) of the Immigration (Work Permits) (Jersey) Rules 1995 for the words “2 months” the words “3 months” shall be substituted.

3        Citation and commencement

(1)     These Rules may be cited as the Immigration (Work Permits) (Amendment) (Jersey) Rules 2012.

(2)     These Rules shall come into force on 1st March 2012.
