Coming into

1 Amendment of Sanctions and
Asset-Freezing (Implementation of External Sanctions) (Jersey) Order 2021
This Order amends the Sanctions and
Asset-Freezing (Implementation of External Sanctions) (Jersey) Order 2021.
2 Article 1 (interpretation)
amended
In Article 1(2) for
“Article 17(1) of the Interpretation
(Jersey) Law 1954” there is substituted
“Article 6 of the Legislation
(Jersey) Law 2021”.
3 Schedule 1 (UK
sanctions instruments implemented) amended – Haiti added
In Schedule 1 after
the row labelled “Guinea-Bissau” there is inserted –

4 Schedule 1 (UK sanctions instruments
implemented) amended – Lugovoy and Kovtun deleted
In Schedule 1 the row labelled “Lugovoy and Kovtun” is deleted.
5 Schedule 2 (general provisions) amended
For paragraph 1(6) of Schedule 2 there is
substituted –
“(6) Except
as otherwise provided by this Schedule or Schedule 3 –
(a) a
reference in a UK sanctions instrument to a person in the UK, being a person
who performs a function, is to be read as a reference to both that person and
the person, if any, in Jersey who performs an equivalent function; and
(b) a
reference in a UK sanctions instrument to an enactment of the UK is to be read
as a reference to both that enactment and the enactment of Jersey, if any, that
corresponds to the enactment of the UK.”.
6 Citation and commencement
(1) This
Order may be cited as the Sanctions and Asset-Freezing (Amendment – Haiti and
Miscellaneous) (Jersey) Order 2022.
(2) This
Order comes into force on the day after it is made, except for Article 3 which
comes into force on 28th December 2022.
