THE MINISTER FOR TRANSPORT AND TECHNICAL SERVICES, in pursuance of Articles 62
and 84 of the Road Traffic (Jersey) Law 1956[1], and after consultation with the Connétable of St. Saviour, orders as follows –
1 Amendment of Road Traffic (St. Saviour)
(Jersey) Order 2000
The Road Traffic (St. Saviour) (Jersey)
Order 2000[2] is amended in accordance
with this Order.
2 Article
7A inserted
In Part 3, before Article 8, there shall be inserted the
following Article –
(1) A person shall not park a vehicle on a road
or part of a road listed in Schedule 6 –
(a) for a period in excess of 2 hours; and
(b) without displaying a parking disc or a parking card in
accordance with paragraph (3).
(2) A vehicle that has been parked on a road
specified in Schedule 6 shall not be parked in any part of the same road
within one hour after the expiry of the period permitted under paragraph (1).
(3) When a vehicle is parked on a road specified
in Schedule 6, a parking disc or parking card, indicating the time at
which the vehicle arrived there, shall be displayed against the internal face
of the windscreen of the vehicle, or, if the vehicle has no windscreen, at a
convenient place on the left or near side of the vehicle, in such a manner that
the arrival time of the vehicle may be distinctly seen by any person outside
the vehicle.
(4) When a vehicle is parked on a road specified
in Schedule 6, no person shall –
(a) display more than
one parking disc or parking card on the vehicle;
(b) indicate on the
parking disc or parking card a time different from that at which the vehicle
was parked;
(c) alter the time of
arrival indicated on a parking disc whilst the vehicle is parked on that road.
‘parking’ means
leaving a vehicle, whether attended or unattended, between the hours of 8.00 a.m.
and 5.30 p.m. on any day other than a Sunday, and includes stopping a
vehicle to load or unload goods or merchandise, but does not include stopping a
vehicle to set down or pick up passengers;
‘parking
card’ means a device of a type and design approved by the Minister under Article 64
of the Road Traffic (Jersey) Law 1956[3];
‘parking disc’ means a parking disc of the
kind described in Article 19 of the Road
Traffic (St. Helier) (Jersey) Order 1996[4].”.
3 Schedule 3
amended
In Part 1 of Schedule 3 after the entry relating to
Elizabeth Street there shall be inserted the following entry –
“Fountain Lane

East side (from a point 132 yards north of its junction with
Belvedere Hill for a distance of 15 yards in a northerly direction)
East side (from a point 199 yards north of its junction
with Belvedere Hill for a distance of 7 yards in a northerly direction)
East side (from a point 270 yards north of its junction with
Belvedere Hill for a distance of 17 yards in a northerly direction)
East side (from a point 334 yards north of its junction with Belvedere
Hill for a distance of 4 yards in a northerly direction)
West side (from a point 199 yards north of its junction with
Belvedere Hill for a distance of 9 yards in a northerly
direction)”.

added
After Schedule 5 there shall be added the Schedule set out in
the Schedule to this Order.
5 Citation
and commencement
This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic (St. Saviour)
(Amendment No. 8) (Jersey) Order 2014 and shall come into force 7
days after it is made.
