Long-Term Care Services (Health and Social Services Charges) (Jersey) Order 2014

THE MINISTER FOR HEALTH AND SOCIAL SERVICES, after consultation with the Minister for Social Security and in pursuance of Article 2 of the Long-Term Care (Health and Social Services Charges) (Jersey) Law 2014, orders as follows –

1        Interpretation

In this Order “care home” and “group home” have the same meaning as in the Long-Term Care (Benefits) (Jersey) Order 2014.

2        Charges for long-term care services[1]

Where long-term care services are provided to a person aged 18 years or over in a care home or a group home of a level and description specified in columns 1 and 2 of the table, the Minister shall make and recover from the person a charge for the provision of those services of the amount specified opposite such level and description in –

(a)     column 3, for each week that such services are provided;

(b)     column 4, for each day during any period less than a week in which such services are provided.

3        Circumstances in which charges do not apply[2]

The Minister shall not make and recover a charge from a person under Article 2 if the person is detained under Article 21 or 22 of the Mental Health (Jersey) Law 2016.

4        Citation

This Order may be cited as the Long-Term Care Services (Health and Social Services Charges) (Jersey) Order 2014.
